In anticipation to the mid-term election in 2022, I had the amazing privilege to lead an city council campaign, serve as Legislative Affairs Director for MiraCosta's Associated Student Government (ASG), and engage with a Puente Civic Engagement Service-Learning Project. Leveraging all these opportunities, I decided to activate a group of dedicated volunteers to gain service hours and learn about the importance of voting by empowering their community to vote.
A week before the election day, I strategically implemented a Get Out The Vote (GOTV) initiative as President Biden attended a rally on-campus. My initiative and our efforts were covered by a range of media organizations and we were ultimately able to civically engage our community by providing voter registration information as well as Lyft vouchers for polling station access.
