Kenneth Vladimir Pilco
Welcome!
I am a fourth-year transfer student pursuing a BA in International Relations at Stanford University. Before attending Stanford, I graduated from MiraCosta Community College with an AA in Law, Public Policy, and Society and received the college's highest academic honor, the Medal of Academic Merit.
My studies focus on American foreign policy in the Global South at the intersection of human development, international security, and great-power competition. I've produced and presented policy research in the Human Rights and Inclusion sector in Southeast Asia through Globally's US-ASEAN Futures Symposium as well as in the U.S. International Development Aid space through Stanford University's programming. I've also presented independent research on regional integration of monetary policy within ASEAN through the Bay Honors Consortium and the Honors Transfer Council of California. I intend to pursue a career in diplomacy after attaining a JD, and ultimately return to my community college to teach political science as a professor.
I am currently involved in student leadership on campus and serve as the Financial Officer for The Stanford Bicycle Project, Video Desk Editor for The Stanford Daily Vol. 268, and most recently an Analyst for the Cardinal Policy Group.
Most of my previous experience has been in higher education ranging from statewide legislative advocacy, to student support as a writing center consultant, and outreach on behalf of MiraCosta's Hispanic Serving Institution grant. Additionally, I have extensive experience in local political campaign management and grassroots organizing.
